* IN FOCUS -  Our Web Site
It seems like anybody and everybody has a web site these days; with information on hobbies, travel, fashion and new companies and just about else anything you could imagine. Some of it isn't what you would call very tasteful either!
Well we've jumped on the bandwagon and we have a web site. The purpose of our web-site is simply to assist in our preaching of the gospel. There's a lot to see on the web-site. The first thing to mention is that the content from all the newsletters that have been distributed to date is there. There's details of all the regular activities that take place at our church, a common questions section, a Friday club section mostly done by the kids at Friday club, you'll be surprised how much there is. Why not take a look?
* THOUGHT -  "Religion"
Religion means many different things to different people, and it is practised in countless ways.
For some it is the positive driving force of their life, yet others view it with suspicion and see it as being a means of manipulating people.
Religion is thought of as being a particular system of beliefs.
It may be sought after, found and devoted to. Unfortunately, it can also be forced upon the individual, a community or even a whole country - but this is the doing of man, not God.
It is a belief, a recognition of the existence of a superhuman controlling power. This power can exist in all sorts of visible and invisible ways. It is recognised that this power is entitled to worship and praise and honour and thanks. For the huge majority this is a positive aspect. However, as we hear occasionally in the news, some power hungry people use religious devotion as a means of manipulating others for their own ends.
One may say that true religion is alive whilst false religion is dead. True religion provides the key to holiness, faithfulness, love and peace, whilst a religion that is used for mans own selfish ends is a false one. The opposite to true religion is emptiness, yes emptiness, because it does not last. Look at the recent European Football Championships; all the excitement, all the emotion, the heartaches – and what was it for? It is here today and gone tomorrow.
Religion can be as contradictory as mankind itself. Where it should bring love and peace it can bring hate and war. When God Almighty created man he gave him certain instructions. Did Adam follow them? We are told he didn't and ever since we've had strife, bloodshed, hostility and war. But why? Almighty God's instructions were good. Regretfully man followed his own devices, his own imagination and his own selfish desires. It's all so simple. If only we didn't trust ourselves and instead trusted the only true and living God. He is true, there is plenty of evidence for that. Please let us trust him and his dear son the Lord Jesus because trusting in him will give us what we long for, Peace, a deep inner peace.
Come to our church and we will help you to find it with the help of God. Please come we want to share the peace that we have found with you.
