* IN FOCUS - The Christadelphian Movement
A few facts about the Christadelphian movement:
* Christadelphians have been around since the 1850's.
* The movement started out as an attempt to re-discover the truth of the Bible by a small group of people; to begin with this was mainly led by one man a Dr. John Thomas.
* Today Christadelphians can be found in every continent and over 50 countries.
* The name "Christadelphian" is Greek (The original language of the New Testament) and means 'Brothers and Sisters in Christ'.
* There is no hierarchy in the Christadelphian movement; every church manages its own affairs, though most Churches follow a similar format with democratically elected people to look after various aspects of church life.
* Many Christadelphian churches are in very close contact with each other and often meet and work together.
* As a rule, a Brother or Sister (i.e. another Christadelphian) from down the road or from the other side of the world will always find fellowship and hospitality when they visit.
* Various organisations exist within the movement that take an active role in Preaching, Caring, Charity work, running of magazines etc.
* Christadelphians don't claim to have any special inspiration from God for their teachings above what is written for everyone to read in the Bible.
* THOUGHT -  "A Better Future"
Our lives are continually bombarded with horrific images from the T.V. and the newspapers. We can become numb to it, harden our hearts and turn a blind eye. After all, life's not really that bad, at least not from where we're standing. But open your eyes and your heart to the reality of the world that you live in.

It is a world in which 1000s of children from Sierra Leone have been raped and forced into killing their own families through fear and the influence of drugs.

It is one, which, has seen over 3,500 people killed and around 36,000 injured in the last 33 years as a result of the Northern Ireland conflict.

It is a world in which successive governments try to find answers to the age-old social problems of violence, employment and health, but never fully succeed.

It is one in which the NSPCC takes 100's of calls a week from children who are being abused, often by a member or friend of their own family.

When I read stories like this I thank God that it is not always going to be this way, that there is something better. It is a chance to be in his kingdom. Jesus will return to the earth, he will set up his kingdom and he will rule. However, unlike today there will be no fear, no pain, no injustice.

Isaiah 9:7 "Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end ... , establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness ..."

Isaiah 65:17,19 "Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. ... the sound of weeping and of crying will be heard in it no more."
