IN FOCUS - "Learn to Read and Understand the Bible" Course |
|
This course has been developed by the members at Old Trafford Christadelphian Church.
They are ordinary people; mums & dads, engineers, teachers, students, builders, nurses,
pensioners and teenagers, who read the Bible regularly feeling the importance and
relevance of God's message for them. For Centuries some Churches have denied 'their'
people access and inclusion to the spiritual life of the Word of God. This course has
one aim, to give your Bible back to you! You'll never be asked for a penny, you'll
never be ‘converted' or pressured and if it's not for you can just leave.
You'll learn about prophecy and archaeology. Find out how to use cross-references
and concordances. Plus much more. Relax and enjoy learning about God in a friendly
environment.

THOUGHT - "Being Lost" (Luke ch.15 vs 11-32) |
|
Jesus once told a story about a young man who demanded his inheritance money
from his Father before it was due to him. He left home and wasted all his money
on prostitutes and wild living. He ended up with nothing. He was so hungry he
had to resort to eating pig food! Eventually he decided that he had to go back
home and work for his Father in order to pay off the huge debts that he had
accumulated. But his Father wouldn't hear of it. He was so pleased to have his
son back that he bathed him, gave him some new clothes and threw a huge party
to celebrate his return. What a wonderful Father he was! Sometimes, we all
feel a bit like a lost son, don't we. We have so many good things in our lives
and yet we waste them and misuse them, and end up losing our way. Sometimes,
it can be very hard when you stop and look at your life for a moment, and
wonder how on earth you came to be where you are. But, just like the Father
in story Jesus told us, God is always waiting for us to get back in touch
with Him, even if we think we're the last person he wants to hear from!
No matter what we may have done in our pasts, we all have the hope of a
better future if we will turn to God and let Him help us put our lives
back on course.
