THOUGHT - The Right Race |
|
It often seems we are all in a race. We spend our lives in the fast lane,
running madly, trying to achieve ... achieve what?
What is your ultimate aim? Do you even know?
God offers us the opportunity to be part of a different race, one that
has the most rewarding goal.
It is his greatest desire to give us his gift of everlasting life,
life as we've never experienced it before.
1 Corinthians 9:25 - "Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict
training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to
get a crown that will last for ever."

IN FOCUS - "The Prayer Group" |
|
For the past few years the prayer group have been meeting
on a weekly basis, in the homes of members of our church.
During that time the format has changed from an open forum,
to a theme based format. Although we have been blessed to
see a response to all our prayers they have not
always been in a way we would wish. We must remember that
God's answer to prayer can be YES - Now, YES - Later or NO.
The most important thing is God always responds.
It is up to us to look for his answer.
From September the prayer group will be meeting at 'The Bethel'
on the first Monday of each month. If any of you would like
us to pray for you, your family or any other issues, please
leave your requests in the Bethel. Times of access are on
the notice board outside.
Remember that prayer is not just about needs, but also a way
of communicating with and praising our Lord God and his son.
As many of the people that come are parents, we are also
enriched with the presence of our children. This has served
to give our meetings a unique atmosphere, which reminds us of
God's love and patience with us. It also serves to remind us
that God will listen to our prayers whether they are in our
quiet times or during the hustle and bustle of our daily lives.
